Dark Days was originally written in December of 2008 as a movie trailer. The original recording used electronic orchestral samples. In 2019, the Moscow Bow Tie Orchestra recorded the orchestral parts with Vladimir Podgoretsky conducting. Although I thought at the time that I would just release this single as an orchestral piece, without the choir parts, I was disappointed in the sound without the choir parts that I had originally envisioned. In 2020, also under the direction of Vladimir Podgoretsky, I recorded the Moscow Bow Tie Choir. The result was exactly what I had in my head.
